Thanks, I'll probably be back for some critiquing and tips on my photos. Gonna try to learn the right way and set all the exposure and stuff myself, and not use the auto modes.

Yeah, only one store around here had all the cameras I was looking at (D3100, D5100, T2i, and T3i), and that was best buy.

It's stuff like that, that makes me wish we were living in the US still. Stupid Air Force. -.- In England, there's almost no electronics stores, at least where I am. So, it was hard to find any that sold cameras. There's so many places you can go to in the US, and at least one will have them all. It's annoying.

You can also try AV mode to get a feeling for Aperature / Exposure Times and Iso settings, it`s not completely auto but it adjusts at least the exposure time accordingly to your aperature...
You can still correct the exposure time adjusting Aperature / Iso and EV... it will be a pain to adjust everything accordingly right from the start. at least i think so, because you would always!!! have to check the hisogram and lightmeter...which is tiny and might disturb you while trying to compose sth. try to get a feeling for composition and image framing first. than, start thinking about light and exposure.

Well, see, I'm from Vegas. Where anything I wanted was within 15 minutes from me. Where we live in England, the closest is about an hour away. The places that were a half hour away didn't have any dslrs in store.

So, I was mostly referring to where I live. It was just simpler back in the US to find stuff.

as already mentioned above, nikon / canon / sony. if you get a entry level dslr its not about features / quality (that is pretty much the same on all these cameras) its about how it feeld and holds in your hand. its about usability and what you prefer.
also. it is about lenses. get good ones. not shit.
