All of the outdoor pics posted were taken in a rush, lol. I noticed the place across from where we were going to have dinner, and our reservations were in less than 10 minutes. I didn't want to miss the opportunity though since we rarely go to that town.

@Jay: The nachos were disappointing. I setup some on the other plates you see, but it didn't look as good, then I just got lazy the next day and realized it looked better, but still had to take a shot at a picture for it.

I'm definitely trying to improve the food pictures. Is it better to have a bigger DoF for food? Is it okay to have the food centered or more cropped? I think it'd be better if I had a lightbox rather than just taking it on the table, lol. Barely had the money to get the camera though. Also, would 35mm or 50mm fixed-focal be better for the food pictures? I think that, and other macro shots are really what I'm going to focus on, so anything info on what would help with that would be great. Lenses, flashes, lightboxes, etc.

@Abduct: I messed up with the cheesecake, lol. I kinda rushed through the picture, cause I wanted to eat it. Since I still have more in the fridge, I'll try taking a couple new ones tomorrow of that.

@Zomb and rest: Thanks for all the input. I definitely want to keep practicing and getting better. I really enjoy photography. =-]

They are not all bad, but some you need to work a little on rules of thirds with like the cat picture.

I just wanted some input. I thought the outdoor pics were pretty good for having to rush to take them. I don't know if I'll ever be going to that place again to take them, and I want to keep some pictures for when we move back to the US. I just want to know what others think they have more experience. I don't think I'll ever be doing this as a career. I used to be far more passionate about it in high school, but my dad sort of killed my hopes. So, now I just do it for fun. The food pictures were taken, cause I plan on making a cookbook for myself of the recipes I've used, so I don't always have to drag my laptop in the kitchen with me on a recipe I don't know as well. When I took the picture of my cat, it's just cause I wanted to take a bunch of pictures of them. So, none of this was done to impress anyone or show off my awesome skills, which I obviously lack. I just posted to show people what I've taken with the camera I just got and see what they thought.

Thanks. =-] She caught her eye on something outside, and it was my first chance to get a picture of her sitting still, lol.
