Another question, do I HAVE to have the triggers and light stand now? I mean, I can just use the speedlite on the camera when I need it, right?

There really is not an abundance of knowledge online on how to use speedlites ._. I had to turn to youtube videos, blech.

Much appreciated :D.

Yeah, youre starting to convince me, haha. I am a little worried about learning to compensate for the extra light..I use my meter a lot, I feel like Ill probably be confused for a while.

What are those covers called that I see on speedlites sometimes? Should I look into getting one of those if I go with a speedlite?

E: Nevermind I found it on eeeeebay, looking for the speedlite.

EE: What type of those is best out of these? Take out the extra e ofc xD

those links arent working for me
often the yongnuos come with a diffuser cap - i try not to used it, if you are in a studio its best to use a softbox, if its just an indoor event etc them its best to use a bare flash and bounce it off the ceiling/walls
if its an outdoor event its a little harder, so there you use the diffuser - i had a corporate event last night that was outdoors and therefore had to go this route

yes you need both, as you are shooting in a studio you MUST shoot off camera flash, only at events etc will you use on camera (sometimes i even use off camera at events - trigger and flash connected to the end of a monopod and held outwards just to achieve better lighting

cant use it manually, very low power, no varied power setting etc
imo the best buy for you would be that yongnuo yn-565ex - online they are around $100

Hm, ok. It seems like people do like the yongnuos more..

Im probably going to stick with the 560 II, I cant really go higher atm. Hopefully best buy will have the trigger and receivers. As far as the stand, I have a tripod/monopod..but I still need a separate stand for the flash?

you can use a tripod, the only hassle there is they dont get as high as you normally require
just remember the 560ii is a manual flash only, they are great but if you need ttl then the 565ex is your best bet, but you could go for the 468ii little less power but a decent flash (manual and ttl)
i have the 560, 560ii and the 468 (although i will be selling it to get another 560ii, only because i dont shoot in ttl and i prefer having all my flashes the same)

How difficult is it to master manual? About how long did it take you?

I can generally pick up on things pretty quickly, Id hate to buy one thats ttl and then never use it.
