Don't waste the money on the IS version of the 70-200 F4. It basically doubles the price, and you'll be shooting at such a high shutter speed that it won't be needed.

not true, way better having IS with a 200mm (even more so with f4 version)
i have the 2.8L IS and the IS is a HUGE help, and plan for the future when u use a convertor; IS will help even more

personally i think IS is not required on 100mm lenses or so, but certainly at 200mm and up

thanks for the input ill keep this in mind. when i went to test the non IS lens at future shop it seemed really clear and focused for not having any IS. im still slowly saving up for it so yea i have time to come to a decision.

First post - third picture: I absolutely love this one! Very well done and lucky! :)

Second post - lots of pictures I really love! Especially 3, 4, and 5. The foggy window one is pretty cool, too.

Third post - these are rather ordinary photos.

1/125 and so, mainly due to low light at dawn while shoting wildlife, oh and with a 1.4 converter and shooting at f4-f5.6
but obv are other times u need to drop below 1/200 or 1/300ish

Oh if you're shooting that slow then yea, it makes sense to get IS. But if you're shooting faster speeds, NN IS.

I love the dog. Honestly, this picture looks like taken by someone else than other pictures. Other pictures look snapshotish to me (no offense) but the dog has everything successful pic should have. It has atmosphere, really good compo, great postprocess this picture look really professional. You should try that way, follow this picture. Really. Keep that way m8.

And since i have some time, I'll make some notes:

your post:
1. snapshot of sun, use more closed aperture to gain nice star of sun, this look like compact or poor lens shot to me (you just ruining your chip with shots like this)
2. bad exposure (overexposed), too much of black there, no details in it
3. facebook picture of grill party
4. chaos
chantal's post:
5. destroyed what could be good pic - falling horizon at the top, too much space on bottom of pic, bad crop on top of pic, shallow DOF, these ruined picture
6. out of focus snapshot of tree
7. i like this, just lacking space on bottom of pic (compo issues)
8. i love this, seriously, keep this way, it is pic i can look at all day long, worth of posting on pro sites or exhibition. i love it
9. snap of fire
10. picture from family album, kid surrounded with chaos
11. chaotic forest from foggy window
12. snapshot, looking to me as accidentally pressed camera trigger

Sorry for being honest about my feeling of your pictures, hope you can accept some of my criticism :)
