the DOF on the 35mm or 50mm 1.8 will make you fall in love with what your shooting, make it easier to shoot in low light and make you think about composition as its a fixed focal length. the 18-200 tamron is designed to be bought by people who know nothing about photography because the zoom range sounds amazing for the price. But what you actually get is slow focus, low quality, low resolution, glass that will not do any camera or photographer justice! It's fine if you want snap shots of a cat. If you get serious into photography that lens will not stay in your outfit long once you realise basics like depth of field, bokeh, composition, shutter speeds, etc etc etc
No offence but you should have listen to nikon's good advice !
the 18-55 despite being a cheap plastic kit lens is half decent (really sharp), and the 35mm would have amazed you!
Sounds like i need to get a 35 or 55 lens as soon as i get better with that photography stuff

For now i am a beginner and i need to try alot with different times and f-stops. I never had such good lens yet so i dont know the difference between a 18 - 200 mm and a 35 or 55 fix. Ofc the light sensivity is much better...this tamron goes with 3.5 - 6.3 if i remember correctly. So far I took the camera with me on some ski tours where i was walking through the mountains by myself and it was pretty helpfull to have an 18 mm for the panorama and the 200 to zoom in if you cant access it by walking there.
The next lence will be a fix one as many of you told me. Thanks

I am having much fun with that setup atm and i am still pretty impressed if i compare the pictures to the small compact cameras...
