I love how adobe keeps pushing photoshop to innovate new tools even though they have zero real competitors.

They charge Thousands of dollars to upgrade to the newer suite i think they want to make sure people buy the next suite. They have technology 5 suites ahead of this that they are holding back for maximum sales. They are decades ahead of any other software company in this field

The whole computer hardware and software industry have been doing this for decades. the military research drives the technology further, and the industry release the technology as they can produce it at a commercially viable production cost.


Basically until it is cheap enough to mass market and produce technology of the future is useless except in the specialised market. Same goes for software. Why mass market a a software technique to everybody when you could sell it to a select few for millions and use it in the future for the mass market, hence optimum sales generation and profitability of the company.

And the reason Adobe continue to churn out software without competitors is for the uses outside of mass market.

yes you heard me photoshop is not designed with the wedding photographer in mind only!
