The 11-16 2.8 is a cropped lens.

Aren't you on a cropped body?

Yes, but I have plans to move to a full frame sooner than later, so why waste the money only to have to buy another lens.

Also, I'm tired of being disappointed by off brand lenses. The last three lenses I've used that were not Canon have been serious disappointments, especially in the focus speed and IQ department..

Even if I did plan to buy a cropped lens I would get a Tamron 17-50 2.8, I've used one for a while and I'm quite pleased with it. However, I'm still sticking with Canon.

Check out the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8.

I don't usually like 3rd party lenses, but after reading KR's review, it looks amazing.

I'll take Nikon's 13mm though.

UWA is a niche focal length, I think you will rarely go wider than 24. Everything just distorts, I'm struggling to find uses for my 24L while travelling.

I find when I shoot static images 24 is always too wide, so I'm forced to stitch 4-5 shots with the 50mm or 85mm

I'd save coin and get a decent L, maybe 16-35 II

I know, I am saving up for an L, hence why I said I was stuck between the 17-40 and the 16-35's.

I'm thinking the 17-40 is going to be my choice though. Then again maybe I should just skip the ultra wide like you said and just get a 24-70L and a 100L

That's gonna be a bitch though. It's going to take until the end of April to get the rest of the cash for the 24-70.

Once you upgrade to full frame and have a 24-70 and a 135 or 70-200... You won't need anything else...
