I know your brothers up your ass and all, but can you not be a dick for a second?
I appreciated your original feedback but that was unnecessary. If you wanna post something that would actually help me, feel free.

That was hardly being a dick... Honest =\= dick. He didn't even say that the photo sucks. Don't ask for a critique if you can't take honesty. You want a dick response, I'm sure Sal would be more than willing to come up with one. Omar is one of the most knowledgable and helpful on this forum.
This. I can go more in depth:
while you hit the goldenratio decently with the guy's eyes, consider that he has ugly skin and we really don't want to see it.
If you want to create a solemn touch, point your light from above so as to darken the sockets- or use different lighting to produce more interesting face shadows. I'd even consider going a variation of rembrandt. Simply enhancing shadow and thickening dark areas through the increase of blacks does not cut it.
In portraits, 1/8th face ratio is not productive. All we see is a big, ugly nose, and a single hair sticking out of the nostril.
Finally: the subject. Close up shots are for models. The rest of us should not be photographed any closer than profile. What exactly were you trying to portray here? How is the excessively-darkened shoulders (I'm guessing that's what it is) or the bland background benefitial to this shot?
I can continue to criticize nicely if you want, but all of this was summarized in the post above.
