Personally I think the 16-35L is way overpriced. There are better and/or cheaper alternatives.
Other than the Samyang/Bower 14mm there are also the EF 24 f1.4L II, TS-E 17L, TS-E 24L II, 17-40L, Nikon 14-24 with adapter, Zeiss 18mm, Zeiss 21mm and the new Sigma 12-24 II are all either better or cheaper or both.

Nikon 14-24, i have used it, it certainly is amazing, but it is also a crazy price, but yeah one of the best wides available
the zeiss aint cheap either
will also look at the sigma 12-24 II
i really think a zoom will suite me best
