1d is good for sports. d700 is for portraits, landscapes etc. best nikon if you need it for that kinds of stuff.

in that add the 5D comes with the 24-105 f4 lens (it is not a bad lens)
but you can get body only for about the same price as the D700
D700 shoots basically anything, just that the fps are high enough for sports etc

i would say its only between the D7000 and 5D, but that is just up to how much you want to spend, both are great

many of them use 1d for its 1.3 crop sensor, that 1.3 crop factor on 1d is there mainly for sport photographers.

ok yeah that was badly stated, but no-one uses a 1.6 crop
they arent really worried bout the extra distance you get with the crop, as they basically have access to any lenses, AF, Speed, quality are more important and iso for indoor sports
obv also depends on what sport they are shooting

What about a 5D Classic?

I just recently acquired a 7D (touted as being one of the best aps-c sensor cameras) and it still doesn't come anywhere close to the image quality i get out of a full frame 5DII. I'm pretty sure the 5D classic will still be better then the 7D.

Edit: Yes, i did pixel peep. :lol:

This is true, as long as you don't print above 8x10 or pixel peep.

Dude, I've got good 12x18 inch prints from a 6MP camera...
