But you have classical buildings that cannot be compared in prettyness and exotic-ness to what's available elsewhere. It would turn into a 'zomg what a pretty photo of X famous building!' type of contest, even if the photo is crooked, has horrible exposure (with a white sky), and has uninteresting composition.

problem with such themes is that some places have nice architecture / culture and some places dont, or at least not as impressive as others. I find the architecture and culture in my region rather boring for instance.
