I went to my trusted retailer and he told me to consider the 70-200 2.8 non is instead of the 70-200 4 is, what do you guys say?
I just sold my remaining stuff today, and i ordered the mk ii, i gotta choose the lens between 2.8 non is or 4 is.

No. The F4 L IS has much better optics than the 2.8 non-is. Plus you have IS (although it won't do much if there is movement). With the advent of low-noise, high-iso sensors, aperture is becoming an aesthetic look instead of a neccesity. sharpness is becoming king, and the F4 IS is Canon's second sharpest zoomie, second only to the already-legendary 2.8 II. I'd still go with the 135.

it depends on your needs. whether you need the is over larger aperture. IS helps more if you dont need to stop so much motion and when it comes to light on sensor, IS helps more. with larger aperture you are able to get more light on sensor with faster shutter speeds. larger aperture also helps you blur the background better. personally i would take the 2.8, even tho f/4 IS has better iq. 2.8 is really sharp lens also and if you arent planning to view pixels over actual photo, they dont have much difference on iq.

Onepage and Anti both are accurate in what they say above. I would go with the f/4 IS for the IQ, but I don't shoot a lot of action. It really depends if you need the higher shutter speeds or not, but onepage has a point that the 5dII has great high ISO capability which is something to consier.

Don't forget also that the 2.8 is a lot bigger and heavier.

even tho 5d mkII has good iso capabilities, its not enough for many many situations, especially with slow lenses like f/4. one thing i forgot to mention that if you shoot much close up shots, the IS will be really useful since you need to stop down the lens pretty much.

for portraits i would take even sigma 70-200 2.8 over canon 70-200 f/4 just because of larger aperture.
