To be honest, you already have a pretty high end nikon body and some decent glass. You're going to take a lost changing boats. Are you sure that you'll save overall by moving to Canon?

yeah this

but obv if Canon glass stays cheaper than Nikon, you would save in the long run
one of my problems switching is i want to do sports, and obv the D3s is best for that

In the long run i'll save a lot actually.
Second thing, i also love nikon's high end bodies but i don't think i will ever purchase such expensive stuff.

and the price of Nikon glass does not help
Canon is so much cheaper, but then again they you get say what u pay for so obv Nikon>Canontruthly it has crossed my mind before, dunno if i would ever do it tho
would be better to do it sooner than later, but i am gonna wait till i see what the price increases do and maybe see what happens regarding the D4

You don't get what you pay for with Nikon. You just get some over-inflated system that takes similar photos, and not superior :D

As for the high end stuff Nikon > Canon any day imo.
But i gotta admit that sub 3k the mk ii is the best camera around.
I got to play with it a bit since a friend has one and i fell in love with it.

There are more people willing to invest sub 3k + expensive lenses than high-end. Holy shit, smart company! Besides, high end equipment isn't dominated by neither Nikon or Canon. Both are shitty brands in those ranges, tbh.

What you say does not seem accurate:

Nikon can't touch Canons in the super telephoto range. Even more so when the Mark II telephotos launch later this year.

how many actuations on the body, and how old is it? any optical / technical flaws? if it´s > 10.000 actuations and close to no flaws you can get around 900€ still I guess.

as for the 105 macro, I guess it´s in good condition and working perfectly fine. I´d say between 600-650€.
16-85 vr2 ~ 400€
35 1.8      ~ 100-150€
SB-900    ~ 250-350€depending on condition

so if we sum up I guess if you´re lucky you can get around 2300-2500€

I´m judging by the actual  current prices for new ware. But why are you asking anyways? please tell me you switch to canon :P

Say what

Retail prices for the following stuff in sweden:
nikon d300s: I've seen as cheap as ~1050€
nikon 105 macro ~750€
16-85 vr2 500€
35 1.8 190€
sb-900 350€

The prices you say are closer to retail prices then used prices, I don't think that's very realistic.

If you wish to sell your gear, see what others charge for their gear and judge yourself.

I think you should ask yourself if you really need the 21mpixel offered by the 5D and more importantly what type of photos do you take.
Saying that Nikon lenses are more expensive than Canon is not exactly correct. If you compare the recently released Canon lenses to similar Nikon ones they are actually either similarly prices or cost more.
What's even more outrageous is that the EF 16-35 f2.8 cost more or less the same as Nikon 14-24 f2.8

Are those prices including the 25% VAT?
I haven't been in Swe for a couple of years but prices on photo equipment there have always been around 30% higher than in the US
and probably around 10% higher than in some other European countries.
