Hardly. Not many people could pull that pose off...

Maybe I will do a self portrait someday to appease you. I could use the practice anyway.

Meh. It belongs to my ex. She was half the reason I got into photography in the first place. Other half was my father, who used to do a lot of wedding and sports photography.

Get into wedding photography. It's a very beautiful and fulfilling business to be in. I'd do it for free if I could.

Did we just hijack Chantal's thread?

I see big improvement. +1 on the signature too.

I LOVE September. I prefer a similar horizontal version you took. The horizontal is likely my fav photo i've seen posted in this forum. The only one that will beat it is when scuba finally posts his picture

Thanks!

Ah - yes, I thought about putting that one up, but I chose this one instead. I actually tried printing the horizontal one once and it turned out bad. Of course, I didn't go to any professional printing place, just Wal Mart - but I have printed there before and the pictures have been okay.

I am neither talented enough, patient enough, knowledgeable enough, nor do I have the will to shoot weddings. The thought of it alone stresses me out. I don't know how to shoot people. They scare me.

And I would never do such a thing... Oh wait... Haha, sorry Chan.

I went to Wal-Mart once for 3x5 prints. Never again. They thrashed them.

I worked for 2 days in a walgreens photo center. The machines used by wal-mart, costco, sam's, and walgreens are all very worn out, inferior, and manned by a 'photo specialist' that gets two weeks of training. The machine runs colors and crops in 'auto mode' unless specifically requested. Finally, the photo paper used by all of these locations is shit. I order from MPixPro (for now). They work pretty hard to calibrate their printers to the standard screen calibration. Colors are always accurate. The paper is awesome. The only price difference is shipping.

For bigger nice prints, I go to a local professional photo lab called Nichols. Most pro's around here use that lab for prints. It seemed quite pricey though, but I don't mind keeping it local.

Yeah, I go to the camera store here to print bigger prints, quality is great there imo.

How does shipping pictures work? They must put it in something to keep it nice and secure to protect from bending etc. Seems weird to me... but maybe I should try it sometime.
