Well I've tried it for 6 weeks now, and I'm happy with the iso performance

That image was shot at iso 3200, no noise reduction has been done.. I'm able to shoot with lenses I'd never think about using when the light is a bit from perfect.
But to be honest, I'd concider getting a d300 instead, as the iso performance is just a part of what a good camera should have. The bigger grip and the bigger buffer would
be great advantages over d7000!
I really dislike the buffer with raw (13 images iirc), and the fact that jpeg high only can buffer up 15 images doesn't help at all..
Except from that, I'm a happy camera owner

damn thats nice from an entry level camera. but you dont get much noise with well lit scene and with short shutterspeed. got some examples in low light, with about 1/60-1/100th shutterspeed?
