Well I've tried it for 6 weeks now, and I'm happy with the iso performance :)

http://images4.bilddagboken.se/47/_u8/_u4/_u3/_u2/_u5/u843256/f/o/8cda1671f1c7db6b98bcc3595824e2eae7153d1454a3d694527d892c1a914566.jpg

That image was shot at iso 3200, no noise reduction has been done.. I'm able to shoot with lenses I'd never think about using when the light is a bit from perfect.
But to be honest, I'd concider getting a d300 instead, as the iso performance is just a part of what a good camera should have. The bigger grip and the bigger buffer would
be great advantages over d7000!

I really dislike the buffer with raw (13 images iirc), and the fact that jpeg high only can buffer up 15 images doesn't help at all..

Except from that, I'm a happy camera owner :D

damn thats nice from an entry level camera. but you dont get much noise with well lit scene and with short shutterspeed. got some examples in low light, with about 1/60-1/100th shutterspeed?

thanks
i will get a D700 as well
would love the D3s and D3x, but i am being realistic and getting D700 and D7000

yeah, d3s would be awesome to have, but it's far from realistic for me as well :P

sure thing, here comes iso 6400, f/2.5, 1/60 shutter speed.
Done from a raw file, 25% luminance noise reduction added.
Resampled to 2048 height

it does seem to lose bit details compared to pro models, but still looks really good.

Yeah

More importantly (in my opinion) is that it doesn't lose it's contrast as much as my d3000 did at iso 1600 even :P

The noise is overall pretty nice according to me :) That makes the camera a lot more useful, as it's not fitting to use a tripod at all times :)

Nice bokeh in the first photo!

The 2nd photo and third, I am not a fan of the angle you chose... I almost call it the corner angle. The place looks really nice though.
