Nowdays, post processing is 50% of what the average person would call a "good photo."

I refuse to believe that.

Search around in flickr. You'll become a believer. I'm so bored of photos of cats, local plants, and people with different effects such as 'vintage.'

If %50 percent of a good photo is created from post op, it is no longer photography. Just my thought on that. Which is why we have so many "Photographers" these days. Kids don't know shit about the how part of taking a good photo. Sad really.

I think most of us here are included in this 'kids.'

even back in the non digital days there was still post editing, it was just alot different and way more difficult
but i do believe in minimal editing, cropping, and a little saturation / white balance etc

They were photographers true to the sense though. All post editing was done in the darkroom. You have to know wtf you are doing with film development to have done all of that. Now days it is PS and done. Even if I were to agree with you about the glory days. Working with photoshop is NOT photography. No argument can change that.

This time I do not like the pic. The other one was much better. It is confused and the subject is not immediate. btw colours are too cold imo.
