I'm not sure if 2filters ship to canada but it might worth a call to find out.

I've spent $1k+ with them and everytime i buy from there, the experience was top notch. Highly knowledgeable about filters since thats all they sell, glad to answer any questions for you and best of all their prices are really compeitive. Unlike B&H, 2filters are actual authorized retailer for B+W filters too. Ask for Andrea if you call, she is uber helpful.

B+W F-Pro UV 010 MRC Multicoated Filters

Hoya HD digital UV
http://www.2filter.com/hoya/hoyahdfilters.html

Both recommended... while you're there, you may want to pick up a few CPL filters too.

They do international shipping :O WOOOO. I didn't call them at all, searched on their website and found out. I just wonder how much I will be paying with shipping. There's an email to email them, so I am awaiting a reply!

I don't use any protection ones/UV ones, I just have specialty ones.

Like what? I thought a clear filter was a clear filter, not anything more.

He's probably referring to CPL, Grad ND, Solid ND etc.

That's all i stock too. Never really bothered with UV protector filters.

Don't buy filters unless you don't baby your equipment, the weather in your area is very bad, or if you're clumsy - unless you're trying to achieve a sort of effect.

you forgot to add and if you got insurance that covers fully any type of accident to lenses and if you arent planning of selling your equipment(people rather buy lenses that have had filter on since the beginning).

As long as there isn't a single scratch on the lens - the same way I like to keep mine - I woudln't care if it had a filter or not. Imma buy a used 50mm 1.4 backup.
