Wow chantal.. the first pic is stunning. Why don't I have trees like that in atlanta. :(

Trees here are still 4-6 months till they start to change into their autumn clothes. :/

p.s- if you can redo the first shot, I would fire a strobe to light the leaves up more.

good suggestion for the first. for the second I'd include more of the trunk because it looks as though it's being chopped down and I'm not sure I like it... I don't know what other kind of background there is but I do like the side lighting.

I agree, i took this shot last year here in atlanta.. i think showing the base and the grass a little helped alot with the composition.

Ahhhh, I see what you mean. I chopped it like that because there was a fence beneath and it would have looked worse. Spose I shouldn't have even took the shot because none would have looked good.

Unfortunately, after that beautiful fall day - the wind tore down quite a bit of the leaves. I don't even have any strobes or know how to use them.

I like the second one anyways. I think you just have to make some adjustments the next time you take a photo on the second tree.
