I'd run the noise removal on lightroom normally - what did you use to remove it?

i isolated the background with lasso + refine edge ans used noise ninja on it with pretty hard noise removal(if i would have done it for the whole pic, it would had gotten soft all over), used the blur tool to finish the edges of that couple. then i used brush with saturation setting(and used the lighter and darked color of the jacket as the brush color) on the guys sleeve and did the same thing on girls hair(noise on sleeve and hair looked worse on photoshop than on web browser). i also used that brush and blur tool to make few spots in the background look better, those spots looked worse on photoshop also.

It looks really good. I'll try your technique, although noise ninja isn't my favorite tool to use :)

what wrong with it? you can get amazing results with it if you use correct settings and dont use it in wrong spots. if there is lots of noise(especially color) ill use that noise removal thing in photoshop raw before running it thru noise ninja. also usually ill add the noise ninja after i have resized, but sometimes i might use it with low setting before i do anything else for the pic and again after resizing and sometimes i might run image thru it even 3 times.

Consider that I can't batch with noise ninja - I often take over 1k pictures.

In higher-end weddings, I've published over 3k. Normally I take ~1500 and publish ~1200. If it's a low end wedding or one where I don't get paid much, I take ~1k and publish ~700. You see why this process is incredibly tedious for me? If i was only publishing 100 images, then that'd be different.

seriously? i assume you give them in a digital form instead prints. in finland serious wedding photographers just sell the prints and if the customers want raw files they ask hella lot of money from each of them

I do not give them digital images unless they are purchased (and yes, for a lot of money, and even these are limited to ~50% quality to be enlarged at max 8x10). I put up to ~500 images on a digital flush mount (or other sort of) album (up to 120 pages), enlarge ~ 5-20 pictures, depending on the client. I also offer 'free' myspace/facebook 100k compressed images to family members and most guests (these are watermarked with contact information and must be tagged to my page) if the client pays for this service. 4x6 prints @ 2$ each + shipping if necessary, although I often just email a reduced quality version that will print fine as a 4x6 through email. That way, everyone who was in the wedding is able to get at least an image of themselves. Consider that in my city, my audience is roughly 20-30 years old and this age group is very computer and myspace/flicker/facebook oriented.

Edit: to be honest, I find no use for stored images that didn't get sold of random guests. That's why i give them away with a watermark / logo / contact info :)

weird system. i looked prices of one studio in finland (that seem pretty basic what i have heard of) and they ask 430€ for ceremony + wedding party(max 4 hours together) and give 15 16x20cm prints(that client picks) and cd with those same images in jpg format. 3.90€ for extra shots from the session in 16x20cm print and 20x30 prints 10.50€. naturally they offer smaller and larger prints, but i cba to list all

giving away small images with contact info if pretty good idea for publicity
