Large, soft lighting. Big soft box or large diffuser. Tracing paper is a cheap way. Double it up to get the light softer.

Make sure the item is clean. Any oils or grease will increase the harsh reflection.

Play around with the position of the light to change the way the light bounces off the object.

The "post processing" just looks like you've fucked up the white balance lol

As far as the edits go; I'll have to agree with everyone else, the 'shopped versions of these pictures just look like you've fucked up white balance...
You COULD save the watch one by keeping the watch silver and only changing the background color for some sort of emphasis.

Because I am always looking for ways to improve, and I am very perfectionist, as are many people in this forum.
The day you think you don't need to improve anymore and are better then the rest, is the day you become a bad photographer.

Flickr is one of the very few sites I can access at work, and out of a 12 hour shift I spend maybe 8 hours exploring learning from real pros.
Pictures that have a feeling to them, pictures that talk, with awesome use of light and colors.
I realize how much I still have to learn, and I realize that you're not as good as you pretend to be.

I already want to upgrade my camera but money is an issue.
I have the same camera as the 13 years old who claims he is so rich..
If I was that rich, I'd have a 5k $ body !
The Canon xsi only has 9 focus points... I already think I need more
But I'll learn to use light to the fullest, and when I am better at this, then I'll think about upgrading.
Light is everything!

I love photography!!!
