Ooo.. Very nice, and nice to see some photos from you again. The flower one has to be my favorite. What did you do as far as post editing?
Thanks kratos.

What do you mean? What I did for editing, or what I did before that?

I love #2. Love the depth presented and the water droplets!
Thanks. I was bored by the traditional flower photos.

wow great. I have a 50mm 1.8 aswell, but somehow I barely use it, since I am finding myself more comfortable with having the kit lens on, even tho I really hate it, because it´s BAD ! Maybe I should put the 50mm on aswell and do some macro / protraits.
Well. The kit lens is not bad - but it could be better. You can make some good results with it. The last photo is made by the kitlens, although it is a HDR photo.
It is hard only having a 50mm - you miss a LOT of shots.

Put the nifty fifty on and keep it on imo...
Haha. Find your own style kiddy!

Ok here's what you do. Find the tallest building you can, and throw the kit lens off of it.
Then you have no choice, but to use the lens that isn't crappy.

Keep it, I would not miss a shot just because I throw away my kitlens. xD

These are great! I think you did well for only using the 50mm for so long, I think you inspired me to do the same

Thanks Chantal.

It pushes the limits of your creativity and understanding of the parameters when shooting - So why not do it ?

Yeah, I gotta say that I am impressed by the fact that you took those pictures with just one cheap lens.
I hated the nifty fifty I had only because it's so tiny and plasticy and because of the inconvenience of not being able to change focal length but lately I have started to shoot more and more with primes too mostly because of the shallower DOF they offer.
Thank you Futurama.

I have seen some of your prime photos and indeed they have a shallower DOF and image quality.
We all have our favorites, but I personally miss a fast wideangle. Haha.

There are a few better and not much more expensive alternatives like the f1.4 version which is only 300 bucks more and produces images with much better bokeh.
