Do you guys actually get lots of tornadoes in Illinois?
I know some dude on Flickr who seems to do quite a lot of stormchasing. I guess mostly in Southern Saskatchewan and South Dakota and the images he posts there are just breathtaking.

just not as often as say oklahoma and some other southern states

i actually follow storm chasers regularly

the guys who do the show storm chasers on discovery have their own site

http://www.tornadovideos.net/

they do live feeds and everything wherever a tornado might be

Wow that's cool!
Those guys in Kansas seem to be pretty close to to some nasty clouds. Too bad the resolution of those videos are very low :(
I wonder how often they get tornadoes down there :O

I thought that tornadoes are only common in the "tornado alley" which is most of the central part of USA
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tornado_Alley
never knew they get those as far north as Illinois.

haha I find this part funny:
"90% of tornadoes hit this region of the U.S because cold, dry air from Canada and the Rocky Mountains meets warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and hot, dry air from the Sonoran Desert, which combines with atmospheric instability to produce intense thunderstorms"
Canada is so evil  :D
