Is this the same as what Academics posted?

I took some, but they were in RAW. Can I just save them as jpeg or..?

Heh. Since i added money to the pot and i will be a semi judge. I auto disqualified myself for the contest. I still want to show what i got though. The fireworks show was shorter then i expected..

I got there way way way too late (i blame my family who took forever at the sushi buffet). >_< Should've told them to take their own car instead of riding with me T_T

The fireworks here starts at around 9:40pm. I planned to be there at 6:30~ but i didn't get there till 9:00pm. Sigh, all the good spots are taken and the best spot i found was well... the one i shot from.. with a tree blocking the view.

These pictures are pretty fail but i still want to show it. Maybe i'll know better next year and use the stuff i learn this year for the next one. Techniques and most importantly.. arrive early to get a spot.

Anyway.. I'll kick start this thread here.

These would be somewhat better if the wind help clear up the smoke.

**Again.. my pictures do not count. And i doubt they'll win anyway, the tree >_<

good question.... I'd like to know the answer to that too! I'm allowed to take a RAW and JPEG at the same time but In case you need to see my RAW I'd like to know how to upload them =) I was rather diappointed in my pictures to be honest. I was pretty far from the show and they delayed the show to the point where everyone just wanted to go home so they rushed it and didn't give me time to adjust the angles sooo..... I'll upload them tomorrow when I've had a chance to look carefully and choose

Raw to jpeg conversion was shunned upon. If you're the winner and you have a raw to jpeg conversion, all you need to do is submit it to either myself or eek. We won't steal your image, but it's only fair for everyone that used jpegs. I'm not even sure anyone participated anyway.

You should do this sort of competition more often, but give a few days or weeks notice with clear and defined rules. It is a bit difficult to do this sort of thing considering that many people don't always go to these events on the same day and if you are in a family like mine, taking a camera and tripod along on a family outing may be slightly shunned upon.
