i have no problem showing you all the orginals or ones very similar as i think i may not have the originals now that i think of it.
i can see what you guys are saying. i actually like my photos a little "over-exposed" sometimes. the people i'm taking photos of never have a problem with it either.
also, she is extremely pale, like white as paper pale.

hold on i am going to search for sooc shots from today

also, it's not that i rely on filters or editing, it's that i prefer them that way.
the photos i take are just fine with no editing, i just am not too fond of plain for lack of a better word photos.

Pale isnt a bad thing O.o You just have to strive for the best settings I guess.

I mean you can still do post processing layer adjustments, but maybe not such harsh filters to where it totally changes the original photo? Sometimes thats needed but not all the time. Like generally Ill just do some curves/brightness/contrast layer adjustments and be done with it. I use actions as well, just not to an extreme >.< Personal taste though, ofc.

E: Honestly for the first I think that angle on her is unflattering, I like the second though.

yeah which is why i didn't use that photo for anything, she told me not to as soon as she looked at it!
and yes i like the second too. i do understand completely what you are saying. i think as im processing them that certain people will probably not like it or think the editing is too harsh.
i also think my photos look fine with no editing or little like you stated. i just love making them look more like pieces of art, imo. not just plain old studio type pictures. i don't like that at all.

i appreciate all you and others have told me though.

And also guys I never said I thought I was a professional photographer or anything! I'm just beginning my journey and I will learn much more along the way. As of now I'm just getting more practice and picking up more jobs to get more practice. Practice makes perfect!

I can understand that xD

Just from what Ive seen here, I think people would appreciate the originals more. But who knows, as I said everyone has different tastes.

E: Agreed on the professional thing, I still have a ridiculous amount to learn.

Yeah I think I have seen a few of your photos posted here and there in these forums. I'm assuming of your daughter? The photos were wonderful though and she is a cutie! :)

Is this a career path you want to take in life?

Your originals have so much better skin tone values and detail, it's a real shame to lose that. Your subject also has lovely skin! Why fault that with destructive post processes?

Yes it is the path I want to take.

When I do present my clients with their photos after a photoshoot I do not edit every single one of them. I also include ones with little or no editing.
Really to me, and I'm assuming the people I take photos of, they like a more "artsy" style. I show them examples of my work before hand and often people ask for that sort of thing.

Here is a photographer I absolutely LOVE. Her work is beautiful to me.

Starting out I really think it is 100% imperative that you create "artsy" images with light itself, not photoshop. Post is a trap :/

In your images I see amazing locations with some beautiful available light. You should really work with your surroundings.

Her work is nice but I'm afraid her post processing techniques are going to be out dated soon by the next fad processing technique that comes through. Her images aren't timeless. Natural always lasts forever.

Thanks xD Im probably going to post some photos later for cnc, Ive just started delving into slow shutter speeds. Ill look like a total hypocrite because of the post processing, but I couldnt help it. Either way, keep it up :x

E: Since you posted your inspiration, heres mine. Id die to take photos like hers.

Pretty nice though the second is over-contrasted (probably done afterwards), which makes some parts of her skin all the same colour if you see what I mean.
