thinking about getting Nikon 55-200 f/4-5.6G

what do you think about this lens?

I'm currently leading on a Minolta 70-210 F4 Beercan to replace my crappy Sigma 70-300mm .. Jesus Christ the quality is so poor!

To be totally honest, I have this lens. Bought it in a kit when I bought my camera. I really don't use it all that often, so I honestly don't have much of an opinion on it. BUT, Ken Rockwell has great reviews on pretty much all the new Nikon equipment, as well as a lot of reviews on old equipment. So usually if you wanna know about a Nikon lens, ask Ken, he knows his shit.

He's also incredibly biased. Not really a trusty reviewer.

Everyone has their biases imo. At least he actually uses and reviews other brands. Most people that are biased to one brand have never even touched or used other brands.

Doesn't really matter to be honest, you shouldn't be taking his reviews too seriously.

I like nikon but I prefer canon.

Fred Miranda has alot of reviews on Canon and pretty much every other brand. I would recommend checking him out
