i really like the first one, it's pretty dynamic. too bad you didn't get the baby's other hand in the shot though, it kinda looks cropped a bit.
and regarding the appearance of noise when setting ISO to 1600, i usually use topaz clean to wipe some of that noise off the image, did you try it?

Yeah, the hand would have looked better. I was in an awkward position though since someone was holding him. I had my camera aimed at him and he started to smile so I took some rapid fire shots in the moment I had my camera pointed there ready to go. Unfortunately he was moving all the time so I don't even know if it was possible to get the arm + that smile in that, haha, but maybe one day I will!

I didn't do any cropping or topaz (never heard of that before). This is the shot straight out of the camera! I didn't think the noise was all that bad, so I didn't bother with the noise reducer stuff.

Thanks for your comment, appreciate the input!

oh no the noise is not so noticeable, i was speaking in general. but if the noise is bothering you, definitely check out the topaz plug-in for photoshop.
and yeah, i totally know what you're saying, sometimes the shot is right there, you know how you should take it but there's always something preventing you from takin the ideal shot.

Diffused window light :)

Can replace adult with a baby or any other type of subject
