I've never used flash with my wide angle, it's too wide and creates a shadow.

Here are a couple fav's from that lens :)















and I know Antichrist- has bought this lens too and has some very good pics with it!

Canon 16-35 Mark II is THE best wide angle zoom in the Canon range. And since you will be rocking FF soon than there is no reason not to buy one.

The Mark I suffers CA and poor corner sharpness and the 17-40 performs pretty poorly in those areas as well. All these issues were rectified in the 16-35 Mark II :)

hmm though EF 16-35 f2.8L II is nice and shiny but I don't think it's worth spending twice as much on that lens than a EF 17-40. I mean how often do you actually need f2.8 when shooting landscapes? If you really want a true ultra wide angle on a full frame body then you should definitely take a look at Sigma 12-24 which offers the widest field of view than any other lenses.
hehe if you want THE best ultra wide lens then you should take a look at Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 with EOS adapter.

It's not really about the 2.8 though, it's about sharpness and CA :/

But I do agree with the Nikon 14-24 comment, it is a beautiful lens. A guy I know who shoots with a 5d Mark II only uses Nikon glass haha
