Just curious, but why would you buy a 70-300mm 4-5.6/f when you could get a 28-300mm 3.5-6.3/f for the same price?

The 70-300 was 40% of + I got the 18-70 covered in my other less.. + what Qhotex said ;)

Eh, I have the same set up as you except an A300, but I would hate to have to change between those two lenses whenever I wanted to go higher or lower then 70. But I guess it's all opinion.

And to Qhotex, 6.3/f isn't that bad. Unless you're shooting inside at that or at night it's not much of a change. Plus if you're shooting inside you don't really need 300mm.

As to get back to the original topic, a 50mm definitely is a good thing to have. I have a manual 50mm and still I love it, I've considered buying a 1.4/f 50mm with AF on it, but I decided to get my 28-300 before it.
