It can't be. I'm pretty sure it's 2.8/f. Can I see the site from where you ordered it?

http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3253&navigator=5

i guess its wrong

SQF data indicate excellent performance. There was minimal pincushion distortion (0.45%) and light falloff was undetectable by f/4. At the closest focusing distance of 12.25 inches (1:1), center sharpness was acceptable f/2.8–4, good f/5.6–8, very good f/11–16, good at f/22, and acceptable f/32–45. Corner sharpness was acceptable at f/2.8, good at f/4, very good at f/5.6, excellent f/8–16, very good at f/22, and acceptable f/32–45.

hmm

i just realized i wasted 300USD.....

Haha... My bad, when I said minimum aperture, I meant that it wasn't the small f-stop. 2.8/f is your largest aperture, so you're good. Don't worry, it's just saying that it can make the f-stop go as high as 45/f. That's a good thing.

so it looks to be that between 8-16 is the best for overall sharpness.
