Yeah, I've seen the Extreme III's but they are over $100!
They are good and all but I don't think I'd buy them unless I was using like a MK II or III.

They also sell a 4GB Class 10 Limited Edition for I think $39.99, which also looks like a good deal.

Extreme III 4gb is what im using got it for a tenner with a case and usb adapter, so not really a good deal there.

$10.00 for a 4GB Extreme III???
Get a discount or something?

Prices change overtime too, and different currencies.
When it's first released it's obviously much more than it would be now when a better one comes out...

They are Limited Edition however, and I think I might be heading to the 2010 Olympics as they are about a 1hr flight from me.

Just my two cents here. Unless you shoot where you need a lot of speed it's definitely more worth saving some money and buying the slower but perhaps higher capacity cards. Scenarios where you need high fps is sports mostly, some types of fashion but not so much and stuff like this: http://blog.chasejarvis.com/blog/2009/10/chase-jarvis-tech-strobed-photo.html

In my opinion it's better to have several 4's or 8's instead of just one or two big capacity high speed cards in case anything ever happens. All that aside if you NEED the speed and got the money then go for it. Bearing in mind your camera should have a buffer ...

I shoot a lot of RAW lately.
I'm finding when I shoot RAW while doing Wildlife stuff such as owls and such, I find my camera having to stop after about 9 frames, and then the "writing" light comes on for a few seconds. :(

Well. You can have 6 photos in the buffer, while writing, then the camera will lag. The 50D can have 16 photos in the buffer.

Hm yeah I dunno.
I have 3 x 2GB Class 6's.
I just think this class 10 8GB looks nice for the price, especially being limited edition, it could be worth more after the 2010 Olympics once it's discontinued.

It is still minimum speed, when you talk about the class.
Try a sandisk extreme IIII they have like 30mb/s, but it is still a class 6.

Yeah, CF is so nice! But quite sad 450D can not use them. :(

Whoa that's weird! And here I thought all DSLR cameras used CF cards.... that's odd.

I am actually looking for a decent CF card, about 8 GB (So I can shoot raw) - the one I saw was about 80 dollars, but I know nothing of them :(

This is the same card I use, a 20mb/second write speed. I can take about 5 fps with 10 MP pictures on raw, though it slows down after about 15 pictures.

If you don't want that slow down, search for another one, they have up to 90mb/second write speeds for 8 GB cards, at least that I know of.
