He is talking about people that have monitors that are, for example, over saturated and when they print, it comes out looking a lot different from what they saw on the screen.

What are you talking about?

If you want quality that will not dissapoint:

http://www.epson.com.au/products/inkjet/stylusphotor2880.asp

http://www.canon.com.au/products/printers/colour_bj_printers/PIXMA_Pro9000MKII.aspx

Kodak aren't much chop. Epson/Canon > Kodak.

What didn't you understand about my post?

If you want to print quality photographs, you must start at the top... Monitor callibration. Then create some decent printer profiles so everything matches up.

Your printed output must match what you see on screen.

I didn't understand your post because to me, only an idiot wouldn't have that already. I've printed photos before and the color is just fine, all I'm looking for out of this thread is which printers are best that can print at least 8.5x11.

I would but the cost is too much, I can print 8x10's with a printer for roughly $.50 per but at the store it's over $3 per.

I broke enough as it is from getting them developed. xD

You can't get a lot of the nicer photo papers for inkjets though, guess if you don't want anything too big it's fine, but it's worth getting prints done in a shop if you plan to sell or exhibit them.

Something else I just considered, take a look at printers that are online, especially if you're ordering a bunch of prints, they'll work out pretty cheap.

What monitor calibration tool did you use? And did you profile your own printer or download a profile?

I mentioned two printers there which give exceptional results for the price (ive used both)

As I said, dont touch kodak. Epson and Canon make great inkjets and the variety of quality paper available is unreal.

Ok, but those are way too expensive, if I needed that many things printed that I would need to buy one of them I'd have no reason to ask around here because I could afford to buy the one I was looking at..

It seems to me professional printing is the way to go, any good printer by your account is way too expensive to be worth it.

$800 US odd for the pixma isn't too bad at all :/

If you want professional results, you must buy a printer capable of a professional output.

It's alot easier to profile match with a pro lab but it is soooo much fun printing yourself :D

edit: a $200 printer won't give you decent results :/

I've got perfectly fine results that were indistinguishable from the lab version with a $200 printer.

I dunno, it's not mine and I don't have it at my house.
