i would love to know how to make signs

I want to know how to burn a certain area that is overexposed... like make it darker...
If there is an easy way....

In Gimp?

There is a tool called "burn tool" in the tool`s pallet. Simply select it and have fun

may be you had nothing in the selection (wow a new word 4 me ^^)

erm fuck in the end of my tutorial i realized i took an bad example ( cos F****ing david has completly no color behind the overexposed ....)
but never the less here it is:
