Very nice marie! Judging from what you said about the zoom, I'd put my bet on that you were using optical zoom. Digital zoom is basically just a gimmick that the camera producers through in to be able to market that their cheap p&s cameras can zoom further than the competitors; kinda sad really. In reality what it does is just crop the original picture. So if I take a shot at 10x digital zoom, I'm actually just taking a regular shot that's been cropped 10 times and thus only pertains a tenth of the original quality.
Exactly

It only seems to work with full size pictures, not the wide setting, which is better cause I hate when the second zoom (cropping) comes in without invtation (haha) and the quality is much lessen...
So when I shoot in wide, I know I can max zoom and stay within the limits of top quality

I like it.
Try to make the blades of grass B/W also.
I would like to see how that looks.

I shall try this also.. also found it too green, and prefered the original by far..

Amazing. And you don't have to use GIMP, you can download a 30-day photoshop trial and buy it after 30 days, or just find a key generator online and get it for free.
One advantage that GIMP has over Photoshop, is that Gimp can be installed and used on a portable device...
You can't do that with Photoshop (they mention this on the adobe site).
I don'T have much time to play with photo editing at home, and I would prefer not to before the winter maybe..
And at work sometimes I have plenty of time, but I cannot install any program there cause I don't have admin powers...
So for now it 'does the job'
