You have an XSi too?

Yeah, I bought it on impulse a few weeks ago, used of course lol. I just kinda got sick of changing lenses all the time.

Lol - now that is just pure laziness. How much did you pay for a used one?

I am also looking for a remote for my XSI and from what I have heard the main difference between RC1 and RC5 is that RC1 also allows you to have a 2sec shutter delay. I am sure Spencer is right about that RC1 is the better one :)

Why would you want a 2 sec shutter delay when you have a 10 second timer?

I have the RC-1 too. Handy little thing. But the range is not veeeery good. (Maybe I should replace the batteries with new ones  )

lol well I guess I have just missed so many good photo opportunities in the past just because I had the wrong lens on but I am not denying the fact that I am lazy...
The guy who sold me that camera told me he took less than 3000 pics with it and it still got more than 2 years warranty left so it's almost new :o so I gladly paid 520 bucks for it.

Well I guess instead of using the on camera selftimer it's also nice to have it on the remote... I mean you never know when you are going to need it, right? Besides you are only going to pay a few bucks for the RC1.

Yup! It sounds like you are in need of replacing those batteries :p
Maybe then you'll be able to tell us how good or bad the range is ;)

Yeah... definitely the batteries there. The range is supposed to be good on the wireless ones, since you can set up a family portrait and have the remote in your hand and click away!

I still don't see the advantage of a 2 second timer. If I wanted a timer I would use the camera itself...

The advantage of a 2 second time is you will need 2 seconds to hide the remote before the pictures get taken, or else the picture is going to have the remote in it -.-
