Oh ?

The only post regarding photography, and it's only 13 words.
And, the photography style of those LEDs are completely different from the diffused style of the LEDs on your Xbox modification.

But the thing is, the topic is off topic.

The discussion here is about Xbox 360 modifications, NOT photography.
Although you posted a photo, I don't see anything that could be critiqued, since you don't seem to be actually showing off the photo, but the actual object the photo is of. Thus being the xbox 360, and thus making it off topic to Photography.

Nobody has ever posted their mods in this section, I've only ever seen that done in Computer Hardware Discussion.

Every post in this thread so far has been in relation to the actual xbox modification you took a photo of.
This makes it belong in Computer Hardware Discussion.

End of story.

I'm sorry that I don't choose to take pictures of cats or random trees. My passion is technology. Obviously my subject matter offends you? I'm taking a picture of a very bright object in a very dark room while trying to maintain the detail in the disk drive and motherboard behind those lights. All the while trying to capture the motion of the bubbles. It is not an easy shot to take. I had to consider my surroundings (the reflection on the floor. as well as lights reflecting in the glass behind the xbox.) This is a still life.

Because the posters choose to comment on the xbox itself instead of the photograph is not under my control. Check any of the other threads and you will find similar posts.

If your passion is technology then these belong is tech. forums, where you can discuss the technology.

Honestly, I see no photographic technique performed in this photo.
This topic obviously doesn't offend me, I'm into tech. too, however I keep those posts separate in a forum regarding the topic.

I don't mean to be offensive or make you mad, but I don't think this belongs here.
I'm pretty sure moderators will agree with this gets locked, and thus proves me point.

Please for my sake explain what "Photographic technique" means.

No?

Ill do it myself.

http://photoinf.com/General/NAVY/Photographic_composition_Balance.htm

Good or correct composition is impossible to define precisely. There are no hard-and-fast rules to follow that ensure good composition in every photograph. There are only the principles and elements that provide a means of achieving pleasing composition when applied properly. Some of these principles and elements are as follows:

* Center of interest The xbox is the center of interest so I made sure the room was dark enough so that was all that showed up.
* Subject placement I made sure that I used the rule of thirds when photographing the xbox instead of placing it dead center
* Simplicity This is a simple picture because I didnt want to detract from the xbox with a distracting background
* Viewpoint and camera angle I chose to take the picture from the floor so that the xbox would appear larger also providing a full view of the side
* Balance I tried to ballance the dark and light spaces of the photograph evenly
* Shapes and lines The strait lines of the xbox draw the users eyes from bottom at the slightly visible reflection to the top (moving along with the bubbles in the second shot.
* Pattern
* Volume
* Lighting This obviously played a large role in the shoot.
* Texture
* Tone
* Contrast
* Framing The xbox was framed in black
* Foreground
* Background Black to not detract from the xbox
* Perspective

Please feel free to critique freely.

Using certain shutter speeds, white balance, aperture, countering camera shake, ISO. Etc.
The general stuff we typically discuss in this forum.

Once again, I don't see a single post in this thread regarding the actual photo, but just posts regarding the xbox modification.

Edit: And I realized you said you took certain steps to achieve the hard drive being the focal point, however you cannot even see the hard drive...

Just a question out of curiosity Bounty. Are you trying to post this photo to get feedback on how to make this photo better or are you posting this to get comments on the xbox itself? No hard feelings here; I think this might help to clear up some things in this topic here.

Lock it, and stop re-posting this damned topic. Let it die and be eaten by the archive monster. Put it into the computer discussion section if you want to talk about it, if you want to talk about photography then take a picture of a flower or a macro of your finger or something that has artistic tone to it. That picture is about the Xbox mod not about the artistic quality, it don't belong here!

Once again. I do not control the posts of others.

The hard drive was never intended to be the focal point. What I said was.
" I'm taking a picture of a very bright object in a very dark room while trying to maintain the detail in the disk drive and motherboard"

Also. This shot was taken manually. That includes shutter speed, aperture, and focus. I propped the camera on a bottle of water as I lay on the floor.

As a side note, does me achieving what I intended to with the picture mean it is or isnt worthy of the photography forum ? I could find quite a few posts that deserve to be locked.

As this is the photography forum I look for posts as such.

OTHERWISE. I make posts like these.

Where do I ask for critiques on my mod ? This is the photography forum I expected nothing less. Im pretty sure that pictures of flowers belong in the gardening forum. D2jsp doesnt have one you say ? What a shame.

http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=32538442&f=289 This is where it belongs.
I don't think any posts deserve to be locked like this one.
This is completely off topic, and in the wrong section.
Others agree.

I've had enough arguing, the post has been reported.
A mod can deal with this.

Nope, but there is a Xbox 360 Forum.
Use it.
