Very nice photos, lightning is very difficult to shoot.
Luckily you seemed to have been in a large storm with alot of lightning.
The only advice I have for these photos is to crop.
Cropping will really help keep your eyes focused on the subject matter.
Crop out the upper left corner of eac of them, and the bottom left corner on the 1st and 3rd.
The glowing distracts me. (I don't know what the hell it is.)
All in All these pictures could be 10/10 with some cropping.
These are some of the best lightning photographs I have seen.
The palm tree really help to set a different mood to this picture.
Its as if the Tropics are being taken over by darkness. (It's a natural contrast, which is amazing to capture on photo.)
May I ask type of camera and, which settings you were using to capture these so clearly?
Very High shutter speed, perhaps? I'm not really sure.
Thank you for your advice on cropping. I'm sure they would look much better. The top left corner is the roof of the car port and the glow in the bottom left is from the porch light and there is a restaurant down the street that is casting light.
As for the camera it is a Pentax K200D.
For pictures 1 and 3 the shutter speed was set at 10 seconds
Picture 2 the shutter speed was .5 seconds
