All I did here was use the "burn" tool on photoshop, and made the lines of the dragon flies body more dark.

You can also do funky stuff like this, which is VERY easy to do.

I have other ideas for the photo too, similar to what JKing did with the first one.

You can also add borders, text, etc to the pic!

At the moment, all i can suggest is to download or 'Torrent' photoshop (dont spend money on it as you will be spending hundreds on something you can get for free)
A torrent is just another version of downloading, which if you want... i can explain more in depth via pm.

Basically, photoshop is editing software ... think of it as a special paint pallet that you can use on your photos. You can make it darker/lighter/more colourful/change the colour/put other pictures on top of it and make it transparent
the list is endless...

I'd suggest downloading 'Photoshop CS3' CS3 is just the version, nothing special or complicated. You then use something called a 'Keygen' to create a serial code (much like the one for diablo2) so you can use photoshop anytime you want. Adobe arent actually selling CS3 anymore , which is why i suggest you download it :) *your other option is to buy CS4...which will set you back ALOT of money*

As for using photoshop... there are many tutorials on youtube if you have a look, they will teach you anything you want... also, as im sure your aware theres alot of people on jsp willing to help you.

If you have any questions, please just pm me (i taught my mum how to use her first computer, so i really dont mind helping) ... as i will respond to them alot quicker.

Anyway, photoshop is great fun and definately worthwhile. Should open up a whole new window for you and your photography.

I don't know if anyone has told you this before but I think you should just get the program and just play around with all those tools and stuff. Then if you want to change it in a certain way and you don't know how to do it just google for photoshop tutorials. There are like a million of those tutorials online and many of them are very easy to understand. Oh, and try to make a few signatures too because you could learn quite a lot about PS while doing that at least I did lol. As for obtaining a copy of that software... basically you have 3 options: spend waaay too much money on the full and legal version of PS or buy Photoshop elements which is a much cheaper and stripped down version of PS or get it "illegally" which I believe is what 99% of the people in this forum do lol.

Hm. I disagree with Qhotex on getting Lightroom 2. If you wish to edit your photos, buy Photoshop CS3 or CS4, NOT Lightroom.
Lightroom would be more advanced than Photoshop, and all it is is exactly as the title says, lighting corrections etc.
(It does White Balance, exposure, tint, temperature, clarity, vibrancy and has a few preset filters (about 15 of them.)

Buy Photoshop CS3. It's Amazing.

There's no substitute for Photoshop, it can do anything and everything.
Takes time to learn it however.
(And you gotta make sure you learn how to blend properly, that way you won't get the distinct lines between the selective coloring like in JK's 1st edit.
