Wow very impressive!!!
I guess some luck has to be mixed with the work to get the perfect timing and alignement.....
I tried it last night cause we ahd a big thunderstorm and I failed miserably....
if you want to laugh he's how I tried......
No tripod...
Aiming where I thought the next lightning would strike....
And yes, call me noob.....

..... but I tested my reflexes and clicked as fast as I saw the hint of a lightning.......
How many did I get???
none

and btw... when you see multis working on their post count, please do not lower yourself to their level in quoting them....
Just report them to me when they post more than 2-3 times in here....
Thank you

Ok... I need a good camera AND a tripod.....
nvm... I'll stick to flowers and sunsets......
Hey - if you could get a tripod you could get some lightning shots!

It's okay, I've tried to take lightning like the way you did before too, and I failed miserably too

What you have to do is set your shutter speed to a very low one, such as 20-30 seconds (highest your camera can go, if you can change it). Of course prop it up on a tripod and fire when you think lightning will shoot. You could get more than one bolt in one picture!
I try not to quote multi's but sometimes it's just nice to fire back at them
