Those lenses SHOULD work... BUT you have to shoot fully manual...

From the catalog:

Compatible Lenses
AF-S and AF-I NIKKOR: All functions supported
Type G or D AF NIKKOR not equipped with an autofocus motor: All functions supported except autofocus.
Type G or D AF NIKKOR not equipped with an autofocus motor: All functions supported except autofocus.
IX-NIKKOR and AF-NIKKOR for F3AF not supported.
Type D PC NIKKOR: All functions supported except some shooting modes.

I pretty much only use older lenses with my D80. Everyone says you can't use old lenses, and that is quite frankly a load of shit.

Well here's the thing, older lenses (aka. analog lenses) often work worse on new digital slrs. The F.Stop gets messed up when I use any of my dad's analog lenses (which are exceptionally good ones). I can't remember the exact reasoning, but I looked it up before. Your F.Stop gets multiplied or something.

Some of those lenses have issues with the sensor sizes which can produce harsh dark spots around the edges. I have never had an issue with mine though. To be honest I prefer using the older lenses that I have. They are easily better than the kit lenses that came with my camera. I have a 50mm F/1.4, 28mm F/2.8 Wide, and 70mm-200mm F/3.5 (Don't really use this one much). Older lenses also tend to be a little more durable, being made out of mostly metal rather than plastics ya know...

Those sound nice and I know what you mean by that they are more durable :d My dads lenses weigh about 3times as much as my two lenses. For instance, his 30-70mm (i think) weighs more than my 18-135mm. I find that rather funny.

@powned

Aww what a cute dog :) Feel free to give me that 52mm UV btw ;D I need to get one asap before I ruin my new lens ><''

Oh god yes D; Imo a tripod is WAY more important to buy before extra other gear. I use a tripod as soon as it's applicable and it's incredibly helpful for low-light shots.
