lol no offense but I thought only old people wake up that early :D

Well, maybe I'm old? I would sleep longer but I've got back issues and it hurts to lay down for too long, it's usually my back that wakes me up.

Definately at the crack of dawn. The light is softest and seems to fill a landscape better, even in the darker areas of a shot.

Dusk is great too although the light can be quite heavy. Id rather adjust/create contrast in photoshop.

It's a mixture really. I don't like doing it in mid day when it's really sunny, because the sun doesn't give off neat colors at that time. Although I do like dusk, night and mid-day (storming, like thunderstorm at least). I voted Dusk. :)

i would have to say within the early hours of the morning
around 1-2 hours after sunrise, the colours dont wash out a lot and you still have ample time to take pictures before the sun goes back down.
its just too bad that i cant seem to get out of bed unless theres a fire in the house....  :S

I have that same problem :( I've never taken a morning shot like that before and I've always wanted too... it's just crappy since the sun rises at like 5 am... so I'd have to get up super early to catch it.

Haha, I am too much of a morning person, I can't sleep past 8am even if I try and I'm usually up by 5 or 6.

I wish lol!

I think I shoot a lot of things during mid day when it's really sunny so I can use 1/4000 shutter speed at 100 ISO and F3.5-F12, not a whole lot to do with that but it's fun to freeze things like water drops and bullets.

Yeah - I was thinking that too. It is good for things like that :)

Dont think i've seen a sunrise in like... 6 months lol.
I enjoy night shots though. Love the neon looking colors you can capture.
