I think that the slow shutter speed + moving water is over used and really doesn't look that great. I'd rather have a fast shutter speed and be able the see the drops of water coming down from the rocks.

It is all opinion though.

On those water shots, you should try a long exposure. Itll make a cool flow effect.

you need a tripod, a neutral density filter(the darker the better), and a digital SLR camera to get the watershots that you are trying to get. pic your scene, setup the tripod and camera; set the camera to AV mode. and put the aperture to f22 or smaller if the lens will allow.. make sure you screw on your ND filter. if your camera has mirror lock use it(this will make the image a little sharper due to locking the mirror and reducing vibrations). this setup should give you a 2-4 second exposure even on a sunny day and will give you the desired effect you are looking for.
