Made with contrast while developing? Are you talking about film or digital?
I'm not a photographer sure, but I've studied photography, I'm reading for a degree in an arts subject and my father was a photographer, so I know what I'm talking about. The idea's fine, but the execution is lacking.
The only similarities are that they're blue and they both have faces in them.

u left the ice and the atmosphere, the idea as a whole. developing talking about digital (cause yes, u develop digital work as well)
and i want u to know i am aware of that the execution is lacking but it looks good enough for me as it is (vide: it's not that bad for me to encourage me to improve it, the project will go in different direction anyway now. if it was the work for the credit, i would ofc fix it, but in this case i'm satisfied with it as it is)

In my opinion, the atmosphere is very different, yours just doesn't have any impact, which is a result of the lighting used. The ice is far more subtle in the original, as is the texture over the skin.

To be honest, I wouldn't really want to be happy with a shot like that, there's so much that could be improved, as an experiment, it's ok, but I hope you never try to use something like that as a portfolio shot.
