I like both photos. But if I have to say something about things you can improve, try to move the subject away from the center of the photo. Like the second one, if you have moved the tower to the right I think it would have been much better. If you look at the photo as it is right know you first see the trees at the right. But overall I think you done a good job with your camera. :)

I use a canon 450D. ;)
Read exif data, and you will get a lot of information. :D
