Try some cheap Nikon or used.

But I suggest you buy a canon 400/450.

ALRIGHT.. I am not looking for an expensive camera because im beginning.. I found a decent one though for 399$ ...

let me know if it is
20x optical/4x digital zoom; 2.5" LCD screen; DIGIC 4 image processor; 11 photo effects; PictBridge-compatible
Canon - Powershot 10.0-Megapixel Digital Camera
Model: SX10 IS

Or I was thinking a less expensive 250$ camera
10x optical/4x digital zoom; 3" LCD; DIGIC III processor; optical image stabilization; direct-print capability
Canon - PowerShot 9.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
Model: SX110IS

Then it is not a DLSR anymore. Sure you can use it, and maybe it is a good camera I do not know.

i highly doubt that you can find d100 new enywhere, its really old camera.. I wouldnt buy camera that old, other than canon 1d(mark1). When cameras are sold with "kit lens" its usually the crappiest and cheapest normal zoom lens. If you want a good lens you need to buy prime lens(without zoom), those have lower f-number usually(lets more light in and you get nice background blur), allso prime lenses have better iq and sharpness than same priced zoom lenses. Only really expensive zoom lenses got same sharpness than prime lenses.

First you talk about 200$ budget, now ur talking about 800$ cameras, whats ur budget again?

thanks for baring in here with me :/

I am 16 but I really want to pursuit this photography :D. But I have read a lot of guides and stuff and they say NOT to buy expensive cameras for starters.. I got an 80$ camera for Christmas, and i think I can shit better pictures :(

So basically my budget will be around 300-400$ I can fluctuate a little but yeah.

Here's what I want: A camera that isn't too expensive (obviously) but then I will get a better lens so I can get better picture quality and such.. So I need a camera that is suitable for this? idk.. I am very new and confused.. but I appreciate the help A LOT!

E// I think I might settle for this camera, it seems decent and at a decent price w/ a crappy lens but I will just buy a cheap Nikon lens (that is good enough for starters) [assuming nikon lens will fit on Canon :/]

yeah I figured that out, I think I am going to go with the Nikon D60, or I am going to handle around with some at Best buy / ask them what is best and go from there..
