Or you could just use Yaplet, which just adds a chat box to the side of the web browser you're using.

I'd do it if we were on AIM or MSN, I don't have Skype anymore and I didn't like it when I had it.

Also, if two people voted no who are they? SPEAK UP! There is only one accounted for if Doyleo voted no..

skype has improved so much, the first time i got it when its an old version i wasnt so keen. But the latest version is so much better.
i voted for other (explain)

I believe it was WarCow. I saw him viewing the thread last night, and then I refreshed and noticed 1 vote for no. Now there's two :O

I won't ever use skype, isn't that a "talk into microphone" thing? I only use msn unfortunately. But I think you can use multiple things to talk, yahoo, msn, aim, etc.

someone could nominate themselves as being the person that gets the pms with emails and then after a day or 2 when everyone has sent them in then they send an email with everyones emails to all those who wanted in...

I can do that....

on skype you can call other people's computers and do web conference calls, as well as calling landlines, etc. But its the same as MSN in the sense you can type text messages. So basically its the same as msn but runs faster has more features and uses less computer resources.

I dont think there is a point discussing which messanger service is best, but i think it would be best for everyone to use skype as it is more professional, and for the reasons stated above. plus its so much faster at sharing photos with one another, which could be important in our case :)

The sharing photos thing is moot, because it's easier to just use an FTP service to upload them to a webpage, if people really want I can just set an FTP thing up on one of my unused webdomains and everyone can upload photos there, that way you can upload them at any size.

Skype is used by a lot of professionals, so it's useful to have it.

Or even, just use the chat box on my website. :) It just loads up in your browser, I don't even think you need flash or java for it! But that's just a suggestion for those who don't have and don't want to download a chat program.
