Sad, cause I think it is easy done. You can do major things with the point and shit with unofficial firmware.

you can get same resaults than expanded 3200 iso if you shoot raw at 1600 iso and underexpose by 1EV and push it to 0EV at raw edits. 3200 iso on 40d and 50d is really a 1600iso thats pushed to 3200iso the same way, but in camera, thats why its called expanded iso.

you can hack the camera to recods video, but i have heard some people have troubles of getting it to work with right framerate. Allso it might mess up ur camera and then u need to install all software again and u might not be able to do it by yourself..
