I think that this would have turned out better on a sunnier day... the general mood of the picture is kinda gloomy and depressing really...

Thing is that I made that pic in Scotland - it was hard to experience a sunny day

you dnt want anything in the picture to take away from your subject such as a distracting tire

Maybe it's just me but I think you should have walked closer so you would have that ugly tire thing in the foreground but nice and colorful shot though

I was thinking the exact same thing!
The ships look so clean and colorful, when I scrolled down to see the rest of the picture, I was kinda disappointed to see the ugly tire and dirty dock....
If you crop it just above the dock, it would be soooo much nicer
