coz if you've got 6.5fps over 3.5fps your almost twice as likely to get the shot you want when shooting action smile.gif

You don't really need high fps to get a shot.(It might help a bit if your in burst drive mode)
You just need to have good timing.

How do you think I get all my water droplets photos/splashes? happy.gif

its easier to shoot water droplets than shooting bikes at 150mph smile.gif

But you are right, good timing helps. But having a higher fps helps more. and having a fast lens helps even more biggrin.gif

Sports is easy to shoot, you just need the lenses.
Look up on Google "Sports photography" And I guarantee you in all of the articles you will get referenced "Get out your checkbook"
Sports is the most expensive, but it's also not much harder than other types...

All you need to do is gain access to a closer spot, or a good focusing point, wait for the bikes/cars to drive around, and start shooting.
High fps will just give you 6 different shots of the bike every second...(Each one will be a slight bit different)
Just time it right, get the focus right, and get 1 amazing shot.

If you miss then just wait for another car/bike to come around. Just takes practice and timing...and huge lenses.

Thus saving you loads of money because you've bought a short fast lens instead of a silly 500mm super tele! smile.gif

I love sports photography. And i agree you're right with timeing but what i am saying is with a higher fps you've got more chance of getting the picture you want, in a shorter amount of time. (a camera with 3 fps will have till wait for 2 laps, where the 6fps could get it in 1)

Of course everyone would choose the 40D over the 450D for shooting photography. But for a next camera im sure there will be a lot of people wondering if they should get the new rebel with 20fps HD movie or the 40D.... biggrin.gif

its a new camera.

Since 580ex II is a high end flash maybe they want some low end flash like 270ex, since not everyone can afford the flagship flash and those cheaper flashes are getting old.

Imo canon should realize that no one who owns this camera needs 15 mega pixels and they should start concentrating on iq instead of mega pixels, especially since this camera offers some pretty high iso for cropped sensor.. But if crap is selling what can i say...

Why is this confusing you? tongue.gif

You definitely got that right. That is more than enough MP for a camera.

And as for the "crappier" flash they're making... not everyone can afford the best, and sometimes a lower end flash will do just the trick for someone.

So they released a new...low end flash?
seems so pointless to release a crappier flash when they already have a pro 580Ex out...

Like Chantal said, not everyone can afford the best. The xxx series are ment for the semi-pro or amatuer-user.
