i was using my canon 1000d, shooting in RAW,
reason why some may be bad is the high iso etc i had to use because it was really dark at some points in the concert
it was my first time doing stuff like this too
i still need to weed out the worse ones and pick out the best, i just back them all up on photobucket for extra copies and accessability
and yes i am british, i notice most of you on here are in the US
I actually didn't notice the noise being an issue with any of them. The 1000D is pretty much like the 400D I use [sensor-wise] and with Noise Ninja applied to processed RAW files, ISO 1600 is pretty usable. Better to get a slightly noisier shot than to not get the shot at all.
I hope you have an external drive as well. My laptop crashed last semester along with a lot of my pictures and the process of re-downloading hundreds of pictures from online albums was a pain in the ass even with batch download scripts. Probably one of the best investments for a photographer out there.
You can even get that cheap Thermaltake BlacX and pop in a hard drive from a really old computer and use that if you're short on cash.
I think we stopped trying to take over Canada after we tried and failed 3-4 times. We'd love to have Vancouver though. Not that it really matters since flying to Canada means going through the Domestic terminal anyways. Contrast that to flying back to San Diego for the start of the quarter, when my gate was in the International terminal. Conclusion: Vancouver is more American than San Diego.
