monochromatic photos like this are simply uninteresting. it needs contrast, color, something! I don't suggest shooting landscapes of snowy areas at all unless its a mountain or something along those lines. Other than that, landscapes taken when everything is green tend to come out MUCH better. Tis true though, it's not often you get a n1 sky like that so i don't blame you for trying.

There's plenty of contrast within the photograph, you just don't seem to know how to phrase your critique properly.
Also, "n1"? Is it really that hard to type out "nice"?

I've seen plenty of snowy landscapes come out spectacularly well, it's nothing to do with the snow, it's just the photographers ability to capture something interesting within the frame.

Well, the landscape is important if it's part of the photo, if you just want to take a photo of the sky don't bother putting any part of the ground in it. Every single part of the photo is important, you should put things in the frame if they clash with everything else (unless you want them to clash).

The ground just looks a little orange cast, it definitely doesn't look as white as it should.

Imo pics from sky should show something else than the sky only, or the pic will look just plain boring(talking about skyscapes in general). Im not really understanding the second sentence, did you mean to say you shouldnt put..?

So you think the fireground should look more like this? I just made quick edits to show what ground looks if more white.

Imo that doesent look better really..

Well, to be honest I don't think there's any real way to make it any better, because the photograph itself isn't that great, none of the elements in the foreground are of any real interest, and even if the sky looks nice, the ugly foreground ruins the photo, that's a problem with the photo itself, not with the editting on it. Of course that's just my opinion, you might not think the foreground is ugly.

The second part just meant that when taking a photograph you should have everything in the frame that you want, and not have anything that could detract attention or possibly spoil the photo.

First you think orange tint on the foreground isnt as good as in whiter, now that its whiter you say there aint nothing to do about it. Whats up with that?

No, I said this:

The sky looks great, as usual with HDR's but I'm really not keen on the foreground, the colours don't look great, and just overall, the landscape is quite uninteresting.

It might look better if you just burn in the areas between the sky and the snow, but not much.

i fail to see much contrast. looks pretty blown out to me. and if you like snowy landscapes, thats fine. I simply see soo many of them that just look boring.

generally, the photo is monochromatic. brown is the only color i see. blacks and whites are just values.
